Greetings, everyone! It’s ENG week 3 of 2024, and I’ve had a bustling week filled with both business and life. Despite sewing very little, I’ve been up to some exciting activities.

Grandchildren outing

This Monday, I embarked on an adventure with my grandchildren, master 10 and miss 6, to the BBC Experience in Melbourne. Both proud environmental nerds, we dove deep into the experience, despite some challenging weather. Navigating the roads of the southwest corner of Melbourne CBD was an adventure in itself, but the memories are worth sharing. https://bbcearthexperience.com/melbourne

The Clean up

In between, I dedicated considerable time to tidying up my sewing studio. A visit from someone prompted the cleanup, and I discovered some misplaced items, organized my tools, and cleared away sewing debris. While it’s clean now, threads and tiny fabric bits are part of the creative process.

Where are those damn sewing needles

In a surprising twist, I’ve started an English Paper Piecing (EPP) project – a rare occurrence for me. With the “A Place For Everything” By Annie pattern, I’m creating a portable project to enjoy while waiting for people and things. Craft Alive in Shepparton late in February will be the perfect opportunity to showcase it!

Coming soon

Lastly, I’ve been busy preparing kits for the “Project Bag 2.0” large size, following a request for a local class. Everything is included except the fabric, making it convenient for our customers. Keep an eye on our website for these kits!

A night on the town

To cap off the week, Vicky and I attended the visually spectacular Moulin Rouge at the Regent Theatre in Collins St Melbourne. We dressed up a bit, carrying our ENG sample bags – Vicky with the Sugar Scull bag and me with my new By Annie Payday. Both bags proved comfortable and the right size for the train and the theatre.

While the sewing machine might not have been on this week, there’s a lot in the works. Stay tuned for more updates in my next post!
